What’s actually in there
If you haven’t wandered through The Vault yet, here’s the shape of it. It’s not a list of ghost stories. Every page is sourced and cited, cross-checked where we can manage it, and built to hold up to someone actually questioning it — because the people who take this subject seriously deserve a reference that takes itself seriously too.
Two hundred pages in, that means real range. Investigators and mediums, from Lorraine and Ed Warren to Joe Nickell, the man who spent a career trying to explain the same phenomena others were trying to prove. Cryptids from Loch Ness to the Everglades. The full, sometimes uncomfortable history of parapsychology as a discipline — the real research institutions, the real experiments, the real controversies, not just the highlight reel. Television, film and books that shaped how the public thinks about all of this, and a good long look at where those depictions and the underlying real cases actually diverge.
And close to home: the Lincolnshire investigation groups that came before us, going back decades, documented properly for what looks like the first time anywhere.
Believers and sceptics, both properly represented
We built The Vault on a simple rule: every case gets both sides argued as strongly as the evidence actually allows. Not “here’s a claim, here’s a token dismissal” — genuine engagement with what sceptics have found when they’ve tested something, and genuine respect for what investigators and witnesses have actually reported. Where the honest answer is “we don’t know,” the page says that. Where sources disagree, we say that too, rather than quietly picking whichever version makes the better story.
That’s slower than just writing up whatever sounds most compelling. We think it’s worth it.
Where it goes from here
200 pages is a marker, not a finish line. There’s a long list of things still waiting to be properly documented, and if the last stretch is anything to go by, that list only gets longer the more we look into it.
