For two decades it was “the most haunted house in England” — ghostly nuns, a phantom coach, poltergeist activity, and Harry Price’s famous investigation. Then a 1956 SPR reassessment, and a key witness’s later admission, unravelled almost everything.
Sheffield, 1962: a schoolboy’s photograph of five saucer-shaped objects makes headlines, then decades later a second photograph of a similar object appears — this time over Retford, analysed by Kodak and the Ministry of Defence. Forty-two years apart, neither case has ever been fully resolved.
