Surrey is a county in South East England, bordering Greater London, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, and Berkshire. Its landscape spans the Surrey Hills — an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty — alongside a dense band of commuter towns closer to the capital, and it has a long-documented collection of local hauntings and folklore.

County town

Guildford, the county town, holds the bulk of Surrey's currently documented reports, including the town-centre "Grey Girl," Guildford Castle, and the Angel Posting House & Livery — see the Guildford page for the full set of case details.

Silent Pool

A spring-fed lake near Shere in the Surrey Hills, associated with local legend of a woodcutter's daughter said to haunt the site, and further noted as the location where novelist Agatha Christie's abandoned car was found during her widely publicised eleven-day disappearance in 1926.

Notable people

Television director and producer Karl Beattie was born in Guildford, Surrey.
