Hi, I'm Gary — or Gary JJ Spate, if you're reading this on a case file somewhere and wondering who keeps tagging things.
I'm a filmmaker, writer, and paranormal investigator, and I co-founded the Society of Paranormal Studies back in Kent with Sadie. What started as a small, local investigations team eventually grew into something bigger than either of us expected — which is how The EERIE Files came about in 2026. The idea was simple: take everything SPS had been documenting for years and open it up into something wider, a proper home for encounters, enigmas, rumours, ideas, and experiences from anywhere, not just the cases we could personally get to.
The Vault is where all of that actually lives — the case files, the phenomena, the people, the media coverage, all of it. I spend a fair bit of time here building out categories, chasing down sources, and trying to keep the whole thing properly organised rather than just a pile of ghost stories (though there's nothing wrong with a good ghost story either).
