Wiki accounts
Creating an account on The Vault requires a username and password, and optionally an email address. Passwords are stored securely (hashed) and are never visible to us in plain text. We use standard MediaWiki cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences.
In line with normal wiki practice, your username, the pages you edit, and the times of your edits are publicly visible in each page's history. If you edit without an account, your IP address is recorded publicly instead of a username.
Story submissions
The Submit a Story form on eeriefiles.com collects your first name, email address, message, and an optional website link. This information is used only to review your submission and, if you agree, to credit or contact you about it. We do not publish your contact details without your permission.
Comments
If comments are enabled on eeriefiles.com articles, we collect the name, email address, and content you submit, along with your IP address for spam prevention. Your email address is never displayed publicly.
