Anomalistic Psychology
PARENT CATEGORYParapsychology

Category:Anomalistic Psychology collects pages concerned with the psychological study of anomalous or paranormal-seeming experiences — such as hallucinations, sleep paralysis, and possession-like states — as naturally occurring products of ordinary brain function, independent of whether the reported cause is judged to be genuinely paranormal.

This is distinct from Parapsychology itself, which investigates whether psi phenomena are real, and from the wider clinical or psychiatric framing used for formally diagnosable conditions — anomalistic psychology instead asks why ordinary minds produce these experiences at all, regardless of interpretation.
