It collects eponymous index categories — one per notable person, case, or topic with enough related articles across different classifications to be worth cross-referencing in one place, in the style of Wikipedia's eponymous categories.
Articles in a subject index still carry their normal classification tags as well; the index category is additive, not a replacement.
Not every subject needs an index category — only create one where multiple articles genuinely cluster around the same person or topic across different parts of the tree.
