Template:Permission-granted
License tag for files used with the explicit, one-off permission of the copyright holder, rather than under a free licence. Applied automatically when an uploader selects the corresponding option in MediaWiki:Licenses, or can be added manually.
Unlike the other license tags, this one exists to record who gave permission, when, and for what scope — because "permission granted" isn't self-evidently verifiable the way a public CC licence or an expired-copyright date is. Filling in the parameters properly is what makes this tag actually useful if the permission is ever questioned later.
Usage:
{{Permission-granted
|holder=Name of the photographer/rights holder
|date=Date permission was given
|scope=e.g. "Use on The Vault only, with attribution" or "Use in this specific article only"
|evidence=e.g. "Email on file, dated [date]" or "See talk page"
}}
Do not use this tag without filling in at least holder and scope. A permission claim with no record of who gave it or what it covers isn't something we can stand behind if it's ever challenged — if you can't fill those in, the file probably shouldn't be uploaded yet.
