Template:Disambig-note
A short inline callout for pages where the subject's name has been reused by, or clashes with, something unrelated — as distinct from a full {{disambiguation}} page, which is for splitting an ambiguous title into separate articles entirely.
Use this when the article itself is the correct, primary subject, but a reader arriving at it might reasonably confuse it with something else that shares its name (a later group that took over an old domain, an unrelated person with the same name, a rebrand, etc.).
Place directly below the introductory paragraph, before the first section heading.
Usage
{{Disambig-note|text=Not to be confused with [[Other Subject]], an unrelated [[thing]] that later adopted the same name.}}
Parameters
- text — required for the note to be meaningful. Keep it to a single sentence stating what the other thing is and how it's unrelated — this isn't the place for the full story, which belongs in the article body if it needs explaining further.
If left blank, a generic fallback message is shown — but a blank call isn't very useful to a reader, so always fill this in.
When not to use this
If the naming clash is actually the more interesting or well-known subject (i.e. readers are more likely to be looking for the *other* thing), consider whether this page should instead be moved to a disambiguated title (e.g. "Spirit Searchers (2004–2007)") with a proper disambiguation page at the plain title instead. This template is for minor, one-directional clashes only.
