Paranormal Lincs is a not-for-profit paranormal investigation team based in Lincolnshire, England, founded in 2003 by Paul Drake.[1]
Structure and approach
By 2015, Paranormal Lincs had grown to thirteen members drawn from a deliberately varied range of backgrounds, including two world-record-holding deep-sea divers, three mediums, a counsellor and a printer.[1] The group operates on a strictly not-for-profit basis, charging nothing for its investigations, and treats client information as confidential.[2]
The team follows a structured, multi-visit investigation process rather than treating a single overnight visit as conclusive: an initial assessment visit before any assumption of paranormal activity is made, a second visit to determine equipment placement, and a third full investigation intended to check earlier findings and rule out conventional explanations wherever possible.[1] Only after all three stages does the group conclude whether a location is "active."[1] A first-hand account from a visiting writer described a level of technical equipment — lasers, cameras, sound gear, EMF devices, walkie-talkie coordination — closer to "NASA's secret headquarters" than a casual ghost hunt.[2]
Lincoln 1000
One of the group's most substantial projects, "Lincoln 1000," set out to document and update the historical record of reported paranormal activity across Lincoln and the surrounding area over a period of roughly a thousand years.[1] As part of the project, the group identified the Green Dragon pub in Lincoln and the Charles I coffee house in Newark-on-Trent as among the most active locations they had investigated, while keeping the fuller findings of individual client cases confidential.[1]
