Mosborough is a suburb at the south-eastern edge of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, historically part of Derbyshire, best known for Mosborough Hall, reputed to be one of the city's most haunted buildings, and as the site of the Alex Birch UFO Sighting, one of Britain's most famous and contested UFO photographs.
Mosborough Hall
Mosborough Hall, a manor house dating to the 16th century and now operating as a hotel, is the suburb's primary paranormal case file — see Mosborough Hall for the full account of its reported hauntings, including the White Lady and the spectral black dog.
The Alex Birch UFO photograph
In March 1962, 14-year-old Alex Birch photographed what appeared to be a formation of flying saucers in his family's Mosborough garden — see Alex Birch UFO Sighting for the full account, including its 1972 hoax confession and 1998 reversal.
