Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns is a British paranormal reality television series featuring medium Derek Acorah, who travels to towns across the UK to investigate local hauntings. The series aired on LivingTV from 7 November 2005 to 28 November 2006, running for three series and 24 episodes (65 including "Revealed," live, and compilation editions), produced by Ruggie Media.

Format

Each episode saw Acorah and the team arrive in a town aboard the "Ghost Town Van," where local residents could come forward and share their own experiences of hauntings. A recurring segment, "Doorstep Divination," saw Acorah visit a randomly chosen house in the town to give the occupants an impromptu psychic reading. The show's format packed several separate stories into a single episode, in contrast to the single-location focus of Most Haunted.

Episodes covered towns including Faversham, Northampton, Shrewsbury, York, Halifax, Chester, Stirling, and Swansea, addressing local legends ranging from wartime and civil war history to reported hauntings at pubs, museums, and family homes. Live editions, "Ghost Towns Revealed," allowed viewers to call into the studio to discuss each night's events.

Ending

A fourth series was planned for 2007 following consistently good ratings, but Acorah opted to take a break from the show to focus on a large-scale UK tour of his mediumship. On his return to LivingTV, he presented Paranormal Egypt rather than a further series of Ghost Towns.
